Birthday Treats

Today's my birthday. The great thing about this being that I didn't have to wait long before I could treat my Christmas present to an accompanying iPod. I love it! Makes me want to spend more time alone ;o)

My Birthday present

What's a birthday without a surprise though? I wonder if Christian Behrens knew that his wishlist gift would arrive this morning. Brilliant. The whole Fawlty Towers series on DVD. An undoubted classic. Many, many thanks Christian.

Anyway, I'm off shopping and then for a meal with friends. Shall leave you with some fun facts about the number 28 (yes, I'm that old), courtesy of Jason Kottke.

  1. Dear Jake,

Happy Birthday and a nice and pleasant 2003 for you. 28 is not that bad. At least one time I am in advance because I get 32.

There is nothing more to say. Enjoy your day and I hope you are saved from a headache tomorrow.

    Cheers

    Heini

    Happy birthday Jake!

I must admit it was pure luck. This kind of timing reminds me of a guy I knew back in my school days – who was out diving at some remote destination. On this island there were 8 hours of travelling to be completed if you wanted to phone home. Anyway he undertook this voyage, in order to call his girlfriend – he was out of money and wanted her to wire him some. When he called her she was very happy – since he (she thought) cared enough about her, to call her on their anniversary day (He had totally forgotten this date). He lied and claimed that this was the only purpose of the call – and they are as far as I know still married today.

Anyway there is still 2 years to the great barrier. I turned 30 in 2002 and some how the event was more thrilling for my friends and family. The only thing I noticed was that it some how gets harder to hide the fact that you have been out boozing the night before.

    Happy Birthday

    On the subject of DATES...

And on the subject of Domino (what, here?) the dates on comments are yank format! I guessed the time would be server time (one of the yank timezones on codestore and my Prominic servers), but I'm sure you can still make it show British dd/mm/yyyy format using notes fields with custom property options.

I'm going to have a play with this now, as I plan to put on similar inline response documents comments facility on Le Mans World soon.

I will do this by using a tweaked (no javascript) version of the codestore "Creating In-line Response Documents" method here:

    http://codestore.net/A55692/store.nsf/cmnts/FD81247D1EA8809780256C1A006C81DD

which kinda rocks. Reckon I can get it to show server time with dd/mm/yyyy though. I shouldn't say that, I'll probably fail now, and therefore look like a right hampt.

  3. Happy Birthday Jake!

  4. Happy Birthday Jake, or shall I say, Sapo Verde!

Thanks Rafa. I forgot to remember ;o)

I suppose I should make it a computed text area. Doesn's seem worth it for once a year...
