Matt gets hitched

It's Sunday and that can mean only one thing. It's Funday. Remember my mate Matt flying to Madrid for some Stag-night fun? Well, two weeks ago, he flew to Ireland for the actual marriage (his wife is Irish). Doesn't look like he had as much fun:

Matt's Doin

It's called a Doin and apparently it's tradition before a wedding in Ireland. Tie the groom to a trailer and tow him round town while random punters cover him in crap. Brilliant.

  1. I've never heard of that tradition... and I'm Irish...

Looks like the locals just wanted to have a laugh and give hime a real Doin' over :)

Thanks Jake, I think Declan could be right. Tell the englishman it is a local tradition and have a good laugh at his expense... at least I got to keep my clothes on.

She's is sat next to him but I don't think she's there against her will. More likely to make sure they don't do him any harm.

I'd like to say that as best man I took control of the situation and saved the bride and groom from any more of this childish behaviour... but in fact I hid from sight for fear of being 'done' for simply being another Englishman!

It's definately traditional to get done in Northern Ireland. My brother and loads of mates have had gooduns.

My brother got taken to 5 different villages over the course of a day so everyone in the area could have a go.

Really? So is Lisa real Irish then or not? I always thought she wat.

That explains why there was the red phone-box in the other shot.

Some of the wedding traditions make me laugh. This is definitely one of them. Looks fun.
