More random nonsense

Only a true webby could find this amusing. Last week I ordered some free literature over the web. Something tells me they forgot about decoding the address at the other end before they printed the label. Then again, maybe they didn't expect a county to have an & in it. Can't think of any others that do...

Address Label

Here's something you might be interested in. You know I wrote all them articles about creating the Journal template in PHP? Well, Erwin van Hunen has started about the same project, but using Puakma. Cool.

Rememeber me talking about conkers? Well, the season may be coming to an end but you can keep with the spirit of things by playing this online version.

Sorry about the lack of thought that's going in to my blogs this week. Karen's on holidays so I'm not getting a lot of time to myself. Add to this the fact that I am trying to get my company up and running and you can imagine how busy I am. Back to "normal" on Monday.

Online conkers. Thank you, my expat life is now complete.

    Good luck with your business.

  1. Either the online conkers game can detect and reject American participants... or I'm a bumbling idiot - but I was utterly unable to get the game to actually perform the conking. I selected my nut; baked, vinegared, and aged it; but when it came time to face off with my opponent (I picked the guy with the waxed mustache!) I couldn't get anything to happen!

    Interesting sport nonetheless -

Same happened to me Sean, don't worry about it ;o)

It worked when I re-opened the site.

Also, make sure you press the up and down arrow to set power and swing?

  2. Speaking of counties with an ampersand in their name, how about King & Queen County, Virginia.

  3. There's a fair few countys (districts) with ampersands in Scotland, probably because there's such vast areas with so few people living in them..!

    eg:

    Perth & Kinross

    Dumfries & Galloway

    Skye & Lochaber

    etc, etc.
